The level of solar radiation in Ukraine is quite high, is 3. 46 billion megawatt- hours per year.

The greatest number of sunshine hours 2300-2400 hours per year is observed in the Crimea and the Black and Azov Seas. In the steppe zone of Ukraine duration of sunshine is 2000 - 2200 hours. In the direction of woodland in the east and the duration of sunshine is reduced to 1740 - 1840 hours, in the lowlands of the Carpathian region the number of hours of sunshine reaches 2025 hours per year. The most sunny months - from May to August, the least sun - from November to February.
